We’re due for some MORE springlike weather (as IF we haven’t had quite enough of that!) this week, so look to see some midge hatches livening up again on surrounding rivers…We expect that the Gallatin, East Gallatin, Beaverhead, Lower Madison & the Spring Creeks will have PLENTY of this type of activity…it’s a dry fly fisherman’s kind of WINTER in these parts! Try a Hi-Vis Neversink Gnat or a Griffiths in a 14 on the Gallatin or the Lower Mad, your Hi-Vis Midge Emerger in a 16 on the Spring Creeks or the Beaverhead! Our in-house anglers are gonna fish the YELLOWSTONE this weekend for CATFISH, clear over on the east part of the river outside Billings…the water’s plenty floatable! Otherwise, hang out near LIVINGSTON, where the wading is GREAT & the Goldenstones are the latest Nymph of Choice! On the BIG HOLE, stick to the lower sections, & nymph with a Pearl Lightning Bug in a 14-16…If you’re dying for some ICE, you may want to head to HYALITE, & tip a Jig with a Maggot for some action…the ice is reported at about 12-15 inches thick! Or you may already be heading up to HEBGEN LAKE for the North American Ice Fishing Circuit’s West Regional Qualifier…the first time ever held at HEBGEN, thru this weekend! The conditions are PRIME for some decent action there! GEORGETOWN & LAKE DELMOE still have decent ICE but the fishing has been on & off…just be cautious with this weather whenever you’re on the ice ANYWHERE!

On the slopes, MOONLIGHT & BIG SKY both have 49” bases and are raring to GO this weekend after adding another 5” of snow this week…conditions are JUST RIGHT for the weekend! DISCOVERY Resort by Phillipsburg got more snow as well this week, has a 39” base, and all lifts open for the weekend as well! BRIDGER BOWL here in town got 4” with the wee storm we had this week, and has a 36” base with all lifts and trails open!

Come indulge in our clearance ICE FISHING sale, we got augers, shacks, rods & all the accessories right here, & the prices are right at Bob Wards! Meantime, get out in this excellent sporting weather and ENJOY! More next week.
