Gallatin River: The Gallatin has continued to fish well despite the heat. Spurce Moths and Hoppers are your best bet throughout the river. In the heat of the day if the fish are not looking up don’t be afraid the nymph the deeper runs.

Madison River:  Both the upper and lower Madison has been tougher fishing. You can still catch fish but will need to work at it a bit more. The river is warm so fishing early and late will be your best opportunity.  Hoppers, attractors, caddis and some PMDS and Yellowsallies will catch fish. However with warmer temps you may be better off surface with caddis puppa and flashbacks.

Yellowstone: The Stone has been fishing very well the past week. The hopper fishing is here and will continue to get better and better in the coming weeks. The caddis fishing has been decent in the evening but people have been reporting great fishing on hoppers well into the evenings, especially after 7. During the heat of the day if you are struggling to move fish to the surface don’t be afraid to nymph the deeper, faster runs.
