Cold Weather and Snow Great for Hunters: MORS Weekly Wrap Up
By Matt Schauer

Posted: October 28, 2012

We shared a lot of successful hunting stories this week on the website. Cassie Peters, of Conrad, MT harvested a nice buck with a .243 weatherby bolt action rifle. The Captain’s buddy, Woody, harvested an old cow elk. And just about everyone in Kamp Cook’s family harvested an animal, except him. Kamp’s favorite huntress, Katie, is shown in the picture above with her gorgeous mule deer from region 5.

The lucky hat that Abby Jo Stensland, of Missoula, got from her grandpa didn’t let down this year.  She shot a buck right off the bat on opening day.

If you have a hunting or fishing story you would like to share, submit it here, for a chance to win story of the month.

The most popular post on www.MontanaOutdoor.com, this week, was a video of a Buffalo vs Elk fight.  Two bulls get into it and there is some pretty funny commentary too.  The second most visited post is a video of a guy making a 1300 yard shot on a cow elk.

We posted our first Wolf Harvest Update of the season, on Friday, October 26th, with 25 harvested wolves.  Today, FWP reports 6 more were killed this weekend, bringing the total to 31.

The Twisted Tea Hot Fishing Spot of the Week is Georgetown Lake.  Check out this story of a cast and blast in the same day in the Georgetown Lake area.

Also, congratulations to Matt McAfee, of Missoula, MT and Tom Battrick, of Lewistown, MT! They were the latest winners on the Kendall Four Seasons Subaru statewide trivia. Be sure to tune in to the Montana Outdoor Radio Show for your chance to win every Saturday morning.
