“A 21-year old Florida man died Tuesday after falling 1,000 feet while climbing Apikuni Mountain in Glacier National Park, officials said Wednesday”, was the first sentence in a recent article posted on the Missoulian’s website.

The park dispatch got the call Tuesday morning that reported a member of the group that was climbing had fallen.  The terrain where the group was climbing is said to be “steep with cliffs and rocky”.

The man’s body was recovered around 6pm Tuesday evening, and the Glacier County coroner confirmed his death not long afterward.  Although the man’s name was not immediately released, the article stated that all four members of the group climbing were employees at the Many Glacier Hotel.

Please be careful out there, regardless of what you’re doing.
