Chancy from Snappy’s
Chancy at Snappy’s says Echo Lake is doing well on bass large and smallmouth. A lot of guys are using crank bait, and Pete’s tackle has the new “wacky worm.” The Whitefish action on Echo has been excellent also, in 35-40 ft of water. The Lower Stillwater’s been getting good reports early in the morning using live leaches in the weeds in about 10-15 ft of water for perch and a few small pike. Hungry Horse Reservoir been fishing pretty good. You want to troll some little clios, for good results on some cut throat. A few been trolling for plugs for some nice bulls too. The Flathead River and its forks are fishing really well right now. Sophie Lake around Eureka been having good reports on large mouth bass, kokannee, and Northerns. Kookanusa’s been fishing well for kokannee, around Rexford and down around the dam. Noxon Reservoir still getting good reports on walleye. Been a rumor of someone catching a 32 inch walleye. The Lower Flathead River from Kerr Dam to Thompson Falls has been fishing excellent. Flathead Lake has had good results for guys trolling 180-200 ft of water with Brad Super Baits. The Whitefish been a little slow, but if you want to try for the whitefish try the delta or bay point 35-45 ft of water. The Montana Mack Attack and Jig Fest is August 24th & 25th on Flathead Lake, and it has a $25 entry fee.

Shelby from Rocky Mountain Supply in Dillon
Shelby from Rocky Mountain Supply in Dillon says the Beaverhead is fishing well with flipbacks and pmd’s, trigger nymphs, and psycho princesses, super flash pheasant tails, small hoppers and zebra migges in the early mornings. The Big Hole when it is open, fishing well with purple haze & para adams, chubby Chernobyl’s and yellow pmx’s are working well and copper zonkers. The best fishing on the Big Hole is the early mornings. Just pay attention to the rivers closures, and the lake using lake is fishing well with trolls and anything colored blue. If you’re in the Dillon area, stop into Rocky Mountain Supply for more information or call 406-683-2308.
