Hear where the fish are biting and who is gearing up for archery season in the Kalispell, Great Falls and Dillon areas.

Chancy from Snappy’s
Chancy at Snappy’s says area fishing is still good.  Some good reports on some nice big perch on Lake Mary Ronan in 20-25ft of water and a few decent kokannees in the early mornings.
IslandLake getting good reports on perch in that 8-10 inch range.  McGregorLake been getting some decent rainbow for those trolling early in the morning.  FoysLake just South West of Kalispell trolling in the morning have yielded good results on kokannee up to 16 inches.  There’s been some success for those night fishing also.  Pike action has been improving also.  Kookanusa still getting some good reports on kokannee around Rexford.  Chauncey was fishing Thompson Falls Reservoir and the Clark ForkRiver, and had some great small mouth fishing.  Quite a few reports by Kerr dam for those bass fishing.  The Thompson River still fishing doing well for trout with dry flies.  Not a lot of word on the white fish for FlatheadLake.

Leonard from Roberts Bait and Tackle
Leonard from Robert’s Bait and Tackle says Holter is still pretty slow on walleye, but is producing trout.  Getting perch around the Flats just past Split rock pat the cabins.  Piscan is being drained down again as well as Bynum.  And Francis is low as well.  If you can get on the water, they are producing walleye.  On Tiber Leonard is still hearing good reports on walleye in 30-40ft of water.  Fresno there’s been reports of guys going up, but not much for results when they come back.  The River is as low as it been seen, can’t hardly get a jet boat in now.  If you have any questions or need rod & reel repair call Leonard 406-454-1877.

Shelby from RockyMountain Supply in Dillon
Shelby from Rocky Mountain Supply in Dillon reminds us about fire restrictions in the area.  ClarkCanyon is fishing Excellent from the bank on blown up worms on a slip sinker.  If you are bring a boat down its hard to launch at the lake, and the only launch available is very steep and challenging to use.  The Big Hole still has restrictions, and the open times you can fish it the hoppers are really working right now.  The Beaverhead is flowing pretty well as they let water out of the lake, and they are fishing well with ants & pheasant tales.  There’s been quite a bit of pheasant hunting in the area, but usually it down in concert with   scouting out and doing prep work for big game hunting and camps for the area.  If you’re in the Dillon area, stop into Rocky Mountain Supply for more information or call 406-683-2308.
