Help celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Wilderness Act on April 26 at Montana Wild by learning how to take kids backpacking.

Kids will participate in a “hands-on” sessions directed by accomplished campers and hikers Bill Cook and Jim Greene. Parents will learn how, when and where to backpack with kids. Activities include safety, gear and “Leave No Trace” demonstrations.

A practice day-hike backpacking trip will be available for participants on May 3 on Helena’s Mount Ascension.

The one-hour presentation begins at 10 a.m., April 26 at Montana Wild, 2668 Broadwater Ave., next to Spring Meadow Lake State Park off Highway 12 West. For more information call Montana Wild at 406-444-9944.
