Montana Hunting and Fishing Report 4/26/14

It is typical spring weather across the Treasure state this weekend. If you don’t mind a little drizzle and being a little chilly, then this is a great time to get out and enjoy Montana. Hear the latest hunting and fishing reports from around the state of Montana, from the most recent episode of the Montana Outdoor Radio Show.

April 26th Summaries

Bill Brown at Bob Wards says Brown’s Lake is fishing very well. The West and North Sides are closed. Watch for the signs.  Bear season opened April 15th so be sure to get your license. Woodside and Tucker Crossings are closed. Harper’s Lake is open, SalmonLake is open.

Bill at Rock Creek Marina says the fishing has slowed down a little bit.

Brett French Outdoor editor of the Billings Gazette shares this week’s Outdoor Report, and hears Tongue River is doing well.

Chancy at Snappy’s says most fishing has been pretty decent rainbows in that 12-18 inch range.   Little McGregor has had reports of folks fly fishing.

Charlie from Don’s in Lewistown says AckleyLake is doing well.

Dallas at Highline Cleaners in Chester says the ice is gone from Tiber dam.

John Harris from Lakeside Resort in Trout Creek says  right now walleye’s are hitting, and bass are doing tremendous, Northern Pike and Perch are doing well.

Leonard from Robert’s Bait and Tackle says they’re picking up a few smaller walleyes.

Holter Dam is all open and below the dam they are doing better.

Ryan from Bob Wards says in Bozeman & Butte areas use dry flies and stick to the rivers. In Helena Canyon Ferry Lake is low, but if you head out to the North end of the bay you will do better.  .
