For a vast majority of my life, every elk I have tagged has came out whole. With changes in access on my hunting grounds and BMA opportunities all over the state, it is about time for me to become comfortable with the thought of not getting my elk out whole and learn to quarter elk in the field. Thanks to Fred Eichler for posting is very informative video, showing a great technique on quartering your elk and even retrieving the tenderloin without the need to gut the elk. Wha tis even more impressive is watching Fred accomplish the breakdown of an entire elk in less than 10 minutes.
