I, personally, am all about requesting that the taxidermist mounts the animals I successfully hunt and harvest to be posed in a manner that takes me back to that moment that made my heart race and my hands uncontrollably shake (you can read about the effects of buck fever here) when I first saw that beautiful buck that not only filled my freezer but also will be memorialized on my wall. But, I have not, yet, requested my mount to appear as it did AFTER I shot it.
There is a deer mount photo that has surfaced on the internet, and it is causing some controversy among many. It appears that somebody wanted to remember their buck the way they saw it after the kill…not before. What do you think of this?
