One year ago at this time, the wolf harvest number total was 153, with 34 wolves taken from trappers and 119 from hunters. As of now, 134 wolves have been harvested, with 28 taken by trappers and 106 taken by hunters. Montana’s wolf hunting season ends on March 15th, while the wolf trapping season ends on February 28th. For those interested in participating, the Sanders County Great Coyote and Wolf Hunt will be held this weekend, with the mandatory registration meeting scheduled for 7pm on Friday, January 16th. The location will be announced this week on the Montana Wolf Hunting and Trapping Facebook page.
