Michael Jay Nimlos (who is also known as MJ) from Missoula joined the Captain for a day on Holter Thursday. The trout were biting as well as the perch. “it was great to have day on the water before the busy weekend at the Great Rockies Sport Show in Missoula this weekend”, said the Captain. The trout were caught trolling with a j-7 fire tiger rapala, fire tiger syclops, Lindy fire tiger 1/4 ounce spoone, a gold body white belly j-7 rapala, a Lindy white green 1/4 ounce spoon, and a silver body white belly j-7 rapala.
The perch were caught in 45 feet of water mainly on a white Kits tackle glassmonnow 1/8 ounce jig tipped with a nightcrawler..
Ice is off but the docks have not been put in at the lower campground and Log gulch campground boat ramps but those launches are useable.
