We all love great cookies! Homemade are the best. A quick nibble or snack is sometimes all we need to get through the day.
While trout fishing the other day I noticed some folks having a riverside picnic. The tired but feasting gang, had just finished stocking trout and were celebrating the last stocking date for the season. There were all kinds of great treats to enjoy and their invitation to join them could not be resisted.
What first caught my eye were the wonderful trout cookies staked 3 layers high! Each layer boasted the representations of the different species stocked. Rainbows, goldens, and browns were displayed in all of their sugar sprinkled glory. The custom sugar cookies not only looked great, they tasted wonderful.
Sportsmen working together supporting our fisheries and natural resources are so important. These unselfish volunteers give of their free time to contribute to our public’s outdoor recreation opportunities. They are generous with their time and picnic goodies.
A limit of special trout cookies is just icing on the cake.
Pass me another cookie please!
