This weekend’s temperatures were record setting in Missoula and Kalispell for June as the temps hit 102 degrees in both cities. More records were broken over the weekend statewide. The photo shows NASA images of the surface heat across Montana. During the hottest part of the day, surface temps hit 140 degrees in parts of the Mission Valley, Missoula Valley and Missouri River Basin. As today is only the 1st day of July, it looks like we are going to have a hot and smokey summer here in the Northwest. Please take extreme caution when having campfires and recreating in the forest this summer.
