Erick Anderson from Placer Motors in Helena joined Downrigger Dale and the Captain on Holter Monday. It was a very nice day, and as you can see, Downrigger has been working out and has bulked up a bit for winter. The trout fishing was excellent in the morning and slowed as the day went on.
Viking Spoons, J-7 rapala lures and gold thomas cyclones seemed to work the best. Trolling at 2.2 miles per hour and 9-15 feet water column by Split Rock was where the trout were biting during the morning hours. Trout fishing was slow at Cottonwood Creek unlike last week. The Captain will be out on Holter again Tuesday and will be joined by Salmon Steve and Downrigger Dale.
