With the heavy rain and snow that was received over labor day weekend, stage I and II fire restrictions on federal, state and tribal lands around western Montana have been lifted. According to the Missoulian, the lifted restrictions include the areas of Lolo and Bitterroot National forests, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service refuges and Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribal Lands, Powell and Granite County. The County Commissioners in the Missoula, Lake, Flathead, Mineral, Ravalli and Sanders counties are set to meet this week to update those area fire restrictions.
