“Grumpy” Curtis Fessler of the Bitterroot Valley found a couple bulls on opening day but couldn’t get a shot. The next morning he slipped into the same thick timber before daylight and tip toed through the bedding area. At first the bull busted him but when he stepped into a clearing at 60 yards Fessler made a great shot that put the bull down quickly.
