Looking For Input In Improving Online Fish Information
Montana FWP is asking anglers and those interested in accessing fish information online for help in developing a new product on the department’s website.

Take our Survey!
The current Fishing Guide and MFISH applications are the primary means FWP disseminates fish and angling data for waterbodies, accounting for more than 230,000 unique page visits per year.

New technology and new methods for storing fish survey and inventory data have allowed FWP staff to enter and store more information on fish populations than was previously available and in a much more timely fashion. The data is now more detailed, comprehensive, and up-to-date.

In developing an online resource to disseminate this information, FWP seeks to gather input from the public to better determine what information is most valuable, usable and understandable. Those interested in providing feedback and offering suggestions can take a simple online survey.

The survey will be open through March 31. Weekly prizes such as a 1-year subscription to Montana Outdoors or FWP fish t-shirts will be awarded to survey participants. Priorities identified from this effort will be used to inform development of the new application, which may be available in 2017.
