NMS/EMS Hooked on Fishing Not Drugs Club took our first fishing trip of the year to Holter reservoir last Sat. March 5th. We had a great group of kids and volunteers who enjoyed the great day . Our volunteers served up a great lunch as always and assisted the kids in practicing the appropriate type of fishing, casting, regulations, and type of bait. We discussed fish conservation as many of the students were new and let them know we would continue this each trip we take. Special thanks to Chris Hickman who help about every kid catch a trout on a Fly rod . This was amazing because most of these fish we over 20” trout that put up a healthy fight.
The kids also go a great lesson on fish conservation and Fishing Ethics because we were in the middle of allot of large fish spawning.
