Congratulations to Dave Graham for bagging an awesome West Fork gobbler!  Here’s the summary of Dave’s hunt in his own words:

I’d been hunting this turkey from opening day on my property up the West Fork of the Bitterroot.  I would do some calling, he would gobble a couple of times and then disappear. Surely he was with a bunch of hens. No matter how much or how I called he would not show himself. One morning last week, I wasn’t planning on hunting, I saw a hen in the yard, so I went outback and did some calling and sure enough he gobbled. I could see turkeys through the trees on Forest Service land bordering my property. I figured the only way I was going to get a chance was to stop calling and head up the hill and try to head him off before they did their disappearing act. I got to the top of the hill and there he was, in full strut with about six hens. I finally got a shot and took it. I couldn’t believe his size. One of the biggest turkeys I’ve ever gotten. He had a nine inch beard and one inch spurs.
