Fishing/Hunting

Hunting:

Starting June 15-July 15 the Hunt Roster will open for sign up for the opportunity to participate in damage hunts later in the year. Also don’t forget to enter in for a chance to win a Supertag and the hunt of a lifetime by June 30th.

Fishing:

Little Blackfoot River: If you’re looking for some smaller water it’s a gorgeous place, water is starting to off of run-off with water slightly high and off color.  For flies we’d recommend weighted nymphs such as a Hare’s Ear or Prince size 10-12.  Use these and bottom bounce them in the deeper slower moving holes and you are sure to get some action.

Canyon Ferry/Holter Lake and Hauser: Use the great weather as an excuse to get the boat out. Warm water temperatures mean the walleye bite is increasing.  For Walleye we recommend tossing some cranks or jigs with perch (or fire tiger); worm harnesses are also starting to work and of course leeches.

Missouri River: As we head into June the season for dry flies is kicking off.  PMD’s and Caddis are starting to emerge causing good fishing everywhere.  Nymphing has been good in mornings and evening.  We’d recommend for nymphing PMD nymphs, BWOs, Mayflies, or San Juan Worms.
