Bitterroot Lady Bags First Elk

Kari Anderson had never shot a gun before last summer.  But she practiced all summer long in hopes of providing meat for her family during the 2016 elk general season.

Tough hunts pushed her out of her comfort zone but when the season ended she still had her elk tag.

Luckily she remembered to put in for a late winter depredation hunt and when she got the call she didn’t hesitate to lace up her hunting boots and grab a rifle.

Friends helped her find a herd of elk on a ranch in the Bitterroot where she made a good shot and put the elk down quickly.

She was ecstatic!  Kari writes “So very thankful for the opportunity to provide meat for my family and enjoy all Montana has given me this season.”

It’s always nice to provide meat for our families but it is awesome when it comes by way of a new hunter.

Congratulations Kari!
