Congratulations to ALL the participants, support personnel and sponsors of the 2017 NAIFC Qualifier Tournament.

The team of Mike Howe and Jason Mundel, Kalispell MT, netted the $10,000.00 first prize with a 14.44 pound, 6 Rainbow bag . Gordon Sveinson and Sam Brown, from Billings, MT, caught a 3.38 pound Rainbow. Most all teams reported in with large bags and multiple fish to certify that Hebgen lake Ice fishing continues to be Outstanding. More success seems to occur near the northern shore of the reservoir between the narrows and Kirkwood Marina. Rainbows and Browns in the 14″ to 24″ range can be caught on Tube Jigs, Maggots, and Maribou Jigs tipped with various Wax Worms, Night Crawlers. Fish are still being caught in depths of water between 7′ and 20′ . Slush can be up to 12″ deep, so come prepared. Long Tracked deep lug Snowmobiles and tracked 4 wheelers seem to do well along with just good old “Walking”.. Ice thickness varies from 10″ to 20″ inches. Come enjoy Hebgen Lake and be prepared to catch fish! Kirkwood Marina will be open on the weekends for supplies!
