Man Pleads Guilty to Poaching Trophy Buck in Butte

In a follow up to our September story here, the Montana Standard reports that the man that was responsible for poaching the Trophy Buck in Uptown Butte has pleaded guilty.  20 year old Butte man, Kyler Olson pleaded guilty last week to shooting the buck on North Main Street in Butte last September.  Olsen pleaded guilty to multiple charges including unlawful possession, shooting with artificial lights within city limits, shooting from a vehicle and abandoning a big game animal.  The poaching of the 5 x 5 mule deer will cost Olsen over $11,000 in fines and restitution and he will not be allowed to hunt, fish or trap for five years.
