Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks (FWP) is seeking public review and comment on its proposal to acquire approximately six acres along the Clark Fork River near Gold Creek for a new Fishing Access Site (FAS).

The proposal calls for developing a new Gold Creek FAS that would include a parking area, single lane concrete boat ramp, security gates, boundary fencing and latrine. The proposed site would help to provide new public access to a 31-mile stretch of the Clark Fork River, between Kohrs Bend and Drummond.

A draft environmental assessment has been prepared for this proposal.  Find the document online atfwp.mt.gov under “Submit Public Comments.” Or, request it by mail from Region 2 FWP, 3201 Spurgin Rd., Missoula 59804; phone 406-542-5500; email shrose@mt.gov.

Comments can be submitted online at fwp.mt.gov, or should be directed to Sharon Rose by mail to the address above or email to shrose@mt.gov. Comments must be received by 5 p.m. on May 23, 2017.
