FWP is seeking comments on Trapping Proposals for Trapper Education, Trap Modifications, and Trap Check Times.
MTSFW’s position on the proposed trapping regulation changes by FWP is to support mandatory trapper education and make trap modifications and trap check time as recommendations not mandatory. The deadline to comment is Sunday, July 16, 2017 at 5 PM.
Please contact the Commissioners and the FWP Director and politely tell them to:
Support the mandatory trapper education portion of the proposal, and make the trap modification as a recommendation not as mandatory and leave the trap check time as it has been in the past, ie: recommended 48 hour check time.
The modifications and trap check times are more suitable to be dealt with in trapper education.
