The Cole Ponds Fishing Access Site will have new weapons restrictions beginning in the 2017 hunting season.
According to FWP, nearby residents concerns prompted a ban on rifle hunting at the fishing access site. However, it will be open for all hunting seasons this year. WEapons will be restricted to archery equipment, muzzleloaders, shotguns and traditional handguns.
An FWP news release said the restriction is “consistent with the weapons restrictions that are found on most of the local Wildlife Management Areas (WMAs).”
