Trapper education will not be required for the 2018-2019 season. Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks decided to delay the measure to determine if they have the “statutory direction” to implement the program, according to a Tuesday news release.
The Montana Fish and Wildlife Commission decided last week to sit on the requirement. The education mandate was a part of a trapping regulation package passed in August.
The host of regulations also called for a change in equipment requirements.
