The reward for info leading to the person or persons who stole and killed two beagles in Darby belonging to Charlie and Stacy Heiland has now surpassed $3000.  A plea from a friend and Darby resident, Jennifer Woirhaye on social media read, “please if anyone thinks they know something please come forward.”

If you haven’t heard about the beagles that were stolen, drowned and their bodies left at Lake Como in Darby, then click here to read the full story in the Missoulian.  It was apparent that the one year-old female that was pregnant at the time she went missing, had nursed puppies, and the Heilands believe the thieves kept the mother around until the puppies were strong enough on their own.

This changes things for many people in Darby, as there are quite a few people with ranches and border collies that roam, along with hunters with cat and bird dogs.

If you have any information on any part of this disturbing story, please contact the Ravalli County 911 Center at 363-3033, Five Valley Crimestoppers at 721-4444 or respond on the sheriff’s app online. Tips can be anonymous.
