High water on the Missouri River through the Upper Missouri River Breaks National Monument is creating a hazard for those boating downstream.

According to an article on Montana Untamed, two ferries (the Virgelle Ferry and the Stafford-McClelland Ferry) provide seasonal vehicle transport across the Missouri River.  The ferries are equipped with bridal cables which keep the ferries from drifting.

These cables can pose a hazard to all other water travelers, so please use extreme caution if your plans include being on the river at all, much less near either ferry.
