Registration is open for the 25th annual Jerry Howard Fishing Without Barriers Day. The event is scheduled for Thursday, June 14 on Flathead Lake in Woods Bay.

Anglers with disabilities are invited to participate in free fishing activities, including trips on charter boats and other boats provided by volunteers. All ages are welcome to attend.

Frank Landis, the son of the event founder, the late Jerry Howard, is the lead organizer. Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks and the Montana Charter Boat Association are lead sponsors.

The event includes a special barbecue and a lake trout fish fry. Prizes will be awarded throughout the day. Saddlehorn in Woods Bay is donating the use of its facilities for the event’s barbecue and Hidden Harbor Marina is donating its launch site for boats.

There are a limited number of slots available for boat trips. To register, contact Dillon Tabish with Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks at (406) 751-4564.

Montana FWP seeks to ensure that its programs, sites and activities are accessible to persons with disabilities to create an outdoor experience for all. For more information, visit fwp.mt.gov/recreation/ctb.
