Inspectors have found mussels (all dead) on 6 boats entering Montana. Coming from Texas, Ohio, California, Wisconsin and Arizona (2). In a couple cases the boats had been thru inspection stations in other states, but our inspectors found just a single mussel still attached. A credit for how good and thorough they are at inspections. In 2 cases they were used boats that someone had purchased and were taking home (one to MT and one to Canada). USED BOAT BUYERS BEWARE – get your boat inspected. It’s the law when crossing into Montana.
As of May 25th stations have inspected 8,000 boats.
