Montana Bowhunter’s Association will host its 16th annual Carp Safari on June 9. The bowfishing tournament is set to take place on Canyon Ferry Lake and registration is currently open.

Prizes will be awarded for the largest, smallest and most fish in youth and adult categories. Bowfishermen can enter individually or as a team. Pre-registration costs $20 for an individual or $40 for a two person team. The fees will increase the day of the tournament to $25 and $50 respectively.

Pre-registered fishermen can begin shooting at first light on Saturday and weigh-in is at 5 p.m.

Participants will need a current Montana fishing license, a traditional or compound bow the shooter is comfortable with, a screw- on or tape-on reel, at least a couple arrows (preferably fiberglass fishing arrows without fletching) and safety slides. Boats are optional.
