If you wander to our neighboring state of Idaho in search of monster fish, then you can note that there is a catch and release state record lake trout in one of the lakes near McCall.
Dylan Smith, of Boise, was fishing at Payette Lake and pulled a whopper of a lake trout from the water long enough to get a picture before releasing it back into the lake. It turns out The fish was 41.5 inches long, beating the previous record by two inches.
