Mountain Lion Hunting To Close In Several Hunting Districts in Region 3 & Region 4

The hunting of mountain lions in several Montana hunting districts in Region 3 & Region 4 will close at one-half hour after sunset on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2019:

Will close to hunting of all mountain lions:

  • HD’s 313, 316 & 340 – which includes portions of Park, Carbon, Sweetgrass, Beaverhead, Madison, Jefferson and Silver Bow counties.

Will close to hunting of female mountain lions:

  • HD’s 318 & 335 – which include portions of Lewis & Clark and Jefferson counties.

Will close to hunting of male mountain lions:

  • HD 411 & 412 – which includes portions of Golden Valley, Fergus & Judith Basin counties.

The closure notices for the hunt came shortly after Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks officials received word that the pre-established harvest quota or sub-quota for the districts had been met.
