BILLINGS – Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks has reopened two south central Montana fishing access sites that were damaged by ice and flooding earlier this spring.

Rosebud Isle fishing access site at Fishtail was flooded and improvements were torn up by an ice jam in February. The access road into the western portion of the Grey Bear fishing access site on the Yellowstone River west of Big Timber flooded and became too muddy for vehicles earlier this month. FWP closed the Rosebud Isle site and limited the western part of the Grey Bear site to foot traffic only for safety and to prevent further damage.

This week FWP crews finished rebuilding and repairing both fishing access sites after the threat of further flooding and damage subsided. Both sites are open for all appropriate uses.
