Now that the state’s lawmakers are through for another two years it’s a good time to see what has changed in their wake. Luckily the legislative website contains a bunch of information. Anyone can log on to follow bills and see what happened, or even listen to past hearings to find out what was said about a particular bill. So far there hasn’t been much excitement on the fish and wildlife bill front. Most of the items that have passed were not controversial. Still waiting in the wings are more divisive measures like Rep. Wylie Galt’s proposal to increase the number of cow elk licenses for shoulder season hunts.

To find out where to go to follow up, or to look at my bill roundup, log on to my story at https://billingsgazette.com/outdoors/fish-wildlife-bills-that-have-become-law-in-montana-are/article_2ea7cf29-ea2e-5b46-854e-c65ba0c1bbb0.html.
