An alternative to packed parks (by Brett French)

If rubbing shoulders with tourists in Glacier, Grand Teton or Yellowstone national parks sounds like no fun, the American Prairie Reserve is inviting folks to visit central Montana this summer. Granted, the experience is going to be much different. Although the Missouri Breaks country has plenty of wildlife, tourists will have to work harder to see animals in the Breaks. Also, visitors to the region need to be more self-sufficient, although there are some amenities like campgrounds and yurts available to the public.

To see if a trip to the wildlands of central Montana might be worthwhile, check out my story in this week’s Billings Gazette. https://billingsgazette.com/outdoors/
