The big bugs have arrived in the Big Hole!  Here’s the full Montana Troutfitters fishing report right here:

The big bugs have arrived! There are salmonflies from Glen up to Lower Maiden rock. Anglers and guides alike have reported consistent action on salmonfly dries in this stretch. Fishing a bigger salmonfly dry alone or with a stonefly nymph dropper will be your best bet over the weekend. Clarity is around 4 feet and the flows are holding steady at around 2600 cfs. As water temps continue to rise expect more salmonflies from Maiden Rock upstream through divide and Jerry creek. Now is prime time to send your big foam bugs under the willows and tango with Leroy. Expect some crowds out there this weekend with the free fishing days and salmonflies hatching. That being said this is a tough option to beat this weekend just don’t expect to have the river to yourself!
