Friday Night Floats (by Brett French)

Concerned that the Yellowstone River doesn’t get much attention from Billings locals, Matt Sather decided to draw some attention to the waterway that borders the city. Every Friday night in the spring through fall, Sather and fellow dedicated rafters travel to the river for a short float trip that often includes an island stop for socializing. The floats are open to anyone with a safe raft (no discount store crafts allowed). Open seats on boats are unusual, but those without a craft can arrive at the launch to try and bum a ride.
