(Bonner, MT) – Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks has issued a decision notice for the draft Environmental Assessment (EA) for the proposed Bonner Learning Park property donation, from the Bonner Development Group (BDG), to Milltown State Park in Bonner, Montana. The decision recommends moving forward Alternative-B, as outlined in the Draft Environmental Assessment, to accept the 33.56 acre land donation.

The proposed land donation would add 33.56 acres to Milltown State Park. The property, which includes several park amenities, has frequently been used by Bonner School teachers and students as an outdoor classroom and continues to be important to the local community. Inclusion of the property in Milltown State Park would provide for continued public access to the site and expand public access to Milltown State Park as a whole.

It was determined that the proposed action will have no significant effects on the human or physical environment. Therefore, an environmental impact statement will not be prepared. By notification of this Decision Notice, the Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) is hereby made the Final EA.

A 30-day public comment process for the project was open from November 1st, 2018 through December 3rd, 2018. During this time, 10 public comments were received, with all of them being in support of the proposed action.
