The Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest has closed the Sheridan Work Center on the Madison Ranger District following the retirement of Ernie Gilbert, the information assistant who staffed the center.
“Forest priorities and budget constraints preclude us from refilling the position and continuing the lease,” said District Ranger Dale Olson.
Forest Service maps and firewood permits are still available for purchase in Sheridan at the Sinclair Station located at 202 S. Main St. For more information, call the Madison Ranger District Office in Ennis at 406-682-4253.
