Nice to see the pressure dropping off just a bit with school back in session and the end of peak tourist season. It won’t be long before the colors begin to turn and hard frost shifts the hatches dramatically. For now, the creek continues to fish well with terrestrials like smaller hoppers, ants and beetles. As always this time of year, the chubby chernobyl in smaller sizes is a good bet. Pink hoppers with CDC p-tail droppers have been very consistent lately too. There is a decent showing of caddis in the evening and this has been producing some good action in the couple of hours before dark. Dancing caddis, never-sink caddis, and elk hair caddis worked well for us.

HATCHES: Golden stones, BWOs, PMDS, yellow sallies, Caddis
