August set another attendance record for Yellowstone Park. An enormous number of visitors filed the Park.

This past weekend, I went to Cooke City to help a buddy fill his moose tag. Tourists abounded!!!!

Normally, park visitors fall off in September. Kids go back to school and adults’ vacations are over. That was then and this is now.

Traffic was heavy, campgrounds were full, and every pull off had several cars or campers parked. There was a line of campers waiting to get a campsite at Mammoth at 7 am. There were wolf watchers, buffalo jams, and wildlife watchers everywhere.

Maybe folks did not get the memo that vacation time is over. We saw some kids, but most visitors were adults.

The weather has been great! It is no wonder that so many people are still travelling. Most license tags were not from neighboring states. Our parks are certainly marvelous.

Even at night, the pull offs are filled with campers and vehicles sleeping in their rigs! It is also cold. Windshields were frosty and frozen. I guess they were waiting to see the sunrise and first critters of the day. Not one Park Service vehicle was seen.

Time to go back to work!
