About a decade ago a lightning strike on Wild Horse Island killed nine bighorn rams. Another ram somehow survived for about a month before it also died. An island resident snapped photos of the ram with a huge hole in one horn. That ram’s horns were auctioned off by Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks in 2013. Scott Chester bought them and is now having the trophy horns turned into a full sheep body mount.

Check out my story on this unusual sheep and its buyer at https://billingsgazette.com/outdoors/lightning-struck-bighorn-ram-horns-adorn-new-mount/article_28dd57c3-0f59-53b0-969b-30902632fe9d.html
