At 2:00 PM on Saturday January 30, a 50-year-old woman crashed her snowmobile on the Two Top trail system about 4 miles west of West Yellowstone. She missed a corner, left the trail, and struck a tree, sustaining shoulder, back, and face injuries. Members of Gallatin County Sheriff Search and Rescue in West Yellowstone reached the patient on snowmobiles with a specialized snow ambulance. They were unable to place the woman on a backboard due to the extent of her shoulder injury, so she was seated on the back of the rescue snowmobile. SAR members then slowly transported the woman back out to town and into an awaiting ambulance from the

Hebgen Basin Rural Fire District

. She was then transported to the

Big Sky Medical Center
