Toole County authorities have identified two Missoula County men whose bodies were recovered from the icy waters of the Marias River/Tiber Reservoir area on Tuesday.
Jared Russell, 43, of Missoula, Montana, and Jerid Kirschenheiter, 40, of Clinton, Montana were originally reported missing Feb. 8.
Extremely cold temperatures hampered recovery efforts. Officials report that searchers found tracks that led into open water, and items that had been secured to a side-by-side when the men left camp.
The bodies of the men have been transported to the state medical examiner’s office. according to ABC Fox Montana
