This will be the final report for the winter ice fishing season as ice conditions have deteriorated to the point that we are recommending that no one go out onto the ice.  Our summer creel will start between late April to early May.

Canyon Ferry:  No safe ice.  Rainbows are cruising the open water between shore and the remaining ice.  Look for some great rainbow fishing as more open water becomes accessible.  Troy Humphrey, FWP, Helena

Hauser: Rainbows are being picked up from shore at the Causeway and York Bridge. Floating jigs and crawlers, powerbait, spawn sacks, Mepps spinners and leech pattern flies are all catching fish. No safe ice.  Chris Hurley, FWP, Helena

Holter: Open water around Gates of the Mountains boat ramp. Anglers are catching some nice rainbows. Floating jigs and crawlers, powerbait, spawn sacks, Mepps spinners and leech pattern flies are working well. No safe ice.  Chris Hurley, FWP, Helena

Helena Valley Regulating Reservoir: No safe ice. No report.  Chris Hurley, FWP, Helena
