ENNIS – The York’s Islands Fishing Access Site has reopened.

This site is 4 miles south of Townsend along the Missouri River. It was closed for about two weeks due to flooding.

Ice blocks on the Missouri River and in other places continue to present safety hazards for recreationists. Conditions can change and create new safety hazards suddenly. Please use caution when visiting these areas.

Two other sites in southwest Montana — the Ennis and Valley Garden fishing access sites on the upper Madison River — remain closed due to flooding until conditions improve and FWP staff can make the necessary repairs to roads and other infrastructure.
