The hunt for Forrest Fenn’s treasure led many searchers to Yellowstone National Park as they tried to solve the New Mexico man’s clues contained in a poem. Daniel Barabisi’s new book delves into the hunt, the people who searched for the treasure and Fenn himself. The author’s research showed how much of a problem the hunt made for places like Yellowstone as searchers entered the park unprepared for the elements or remoteness. One man was fined for digging in the park’s historic cemetery and another for rappelling into the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. The treasure was found last year in Wyoming. Barabisi was the first to identify the man, and talks about his discovery.
